POTTED HYDRANGEAS

Hydrangeas are popularly sold in pots at Easter time and also for Mother's Day. These are called potted hydrangeas or "forced" hydrangeas. The latter term comes from the fact that the plants are forced into blooming at a time when they are not normally in bloom. In the garden, hydrangeas bloom in the summer. Forced hydrangeas are sold at all times of the year.

The blooms will last for several weeks if cared for properly. The plants can be added to the garden for future enjoyment. For detailed advice on caring for your Easter hydrangeas go to the FAQs page.

It's a bonus when the hydrangeas are potted in attractive containers that can be used as vases for arrangements (featuring hydrangeas, of course!) at a later date.
